Hey! I’m Sarah, a local photographer who specializes in fine art school photography as well as authentic, laid-back and joyful family photography sessions since 2016.
That’s me: mom of two young kids, artist behind the camera and solopreneur going on seven years of running this business I adore.
I know life is busy and chaotic.
I also know the fleeting playfulness and tenderness of childhood passes far too quickly. That’s why I’m so passionate about capturing each child’s unique personality. No cheesy smiles, no cheesy backdrops, just timeless imagery. Learn how to get started below.
What are Fine Art School Portraits? Great question!
A Modern approach to traditional school photography that captures the unique personality of each child in an artistic way.
All students are photographed in natural light or with a small flash - no intimidating props or large lights.
Time is spent with each child to make sure they are comfortable and to learn what might make them smile and share their personality with me.
I don’t charge a fee to come into the school and take portraits. I typically work with natural light so will need to be situated near a large window, and will bring a plain backdrop with me. After the photos are taken, the ordering process will take place completely online. Families will be linked to a password-protected online ordering gallery within 2-3 weeks of photo day. Each child will be provided 2-5 watermarked images, presented in both color and black and white. The family may choose the photos they want printed or to download, as opposed to having a pose chosen for them. A detailed PDF describing all ordering procedures and shooting day preparation will be provided to each school to be distributed to families prior to photo day.
I will give out my contact information and handle any questions from parents and families about ordering and products.
I can take staff and class photos depending on the school’s needs.
What about pricing?
There is no fee to come into the school and take portraits. All profit is made from ordering and I offer competitive rates on my carefully selected professional print products. Prints are ordered from a private online gallery and delivered directly to the family’s home. Reach out to secure an updated price sheet. Bonus, I donate 10% of all proceeds back to the school.
Availability?
I work with each individual school to schedule shoots any time during the academic year, except for the months of October and November.
